So I'm trying to learn a new keyboard layout.. it's hard to come up with the patience for it though, as typing with it takes ages! And with Av being without internet, I don't have many people to practice on either Oo
We had Sinterklaas here in Holland a few weeks ago, it's basically our own little version of santa. I got some nice gifts! Supernatural season 4 on dvd, a Supernatural book, a book with handy camera stuffs, Serenity dvd, Windows 7 magazine (have to put that on the laptop this vacation!), candies and chocolate!
We went over to my brother for it, in his student home thingy. He really loves it there ^^ went into the city afterwards for dinner, I have to say, that city looks pretty nice! I should go visit there more often.
So it's christmas vacation now and we've had quite a lot of snow! It's so beautiful ^_^ I haven't managed to drag myself out into the cold much though, but I did get a few nice pictures.
Went shopping with my mum yesterday and I got myself some nice new goodies, socks and stuff, but also a new hat and the most awesome coat ever! It has a bunny on it! I should think of a good name for the bunny..

For christmas we'll have my brother over for his birthday, I got my nice outfit already picked out (hey, I got bored and was fitting my new eeeeehm... whatever they're called in English!). Don't think the present we ordered for him will arrive in time though well he'll just get it a bit later then. Aaaaand for new years, I'll just be at home with my mum and prob one of her friends. Yay for watching pretty fireworks from a safe distance ^^

After having a chat with someone, I decided to go look for a program/firmware update/whatever that would let my camera make 3 pics with different exposures without me having to manually adjust it for every type of exposure (which results in slight movement of the camera). Eventually I came across this program. I'm not sure if it lets me do the 3 pics thingy, but I did notice it allows my camera to save in .raw format. Now I've been reading a bit and this should also work nicely for HDR pics. The problem was, however, I had to put it directly on my SD card, while it's out of the camera. My pc/laptop doesn't have a slot for it and my older laptop couldn't seem to pick up the card.
At school I got to use a classmate's laptop to put the program on my card and it works fine. Next problem! When I tried downloading the pictures I made off my cam, it only gave me the jpg pictures, there was no sign of raw formats. This is when I decided to browse my cam using the CHDK software now on it. I managed to find both jpg's and raw's saved in a folder. So now I can only guess that the only way I'm able to get the raw pictures off my card, is to take them directly off the card without the camera..
So I'm going to have to get myself a cheap SD card reader, because I can't really go bother classmates every time I want to access my new pictures! So this story is to be continued.

In other news. I'm doing pretty well in school. Getting awesome grades (yay for already knowing the basics). Socializing is still not perfect, yay for being the only girl (the new girl doesn't seem to show up much), but I keep trying, it shall be fine! I had to do a presentation last week, ugh I kinda sucked x.x I hate presentations. Atleast she said no one failed so far, so I guess I did good enough. Handed in my english paper that apparently is due at the start of december. Ah well, it was finished anyways, and my other classmates just mess around in class, so they're not that far mostly.. teacher's keeping that in mind I guess.
We got our first project assignment today. We're teamed up in groups of 4 and have to make a disk which explains the workings of a computer (the hardware side) to a certain group of people. The teacher took all morning to explain everything about working on projects so after that there wasn't much time left for other stuff. We had to have our first meeting, which was mostly joking around instead of actually deciding on things, and then it was 3 o'clock and we went home. Ah well, we got 6 weeks for this, so I'm fine with them joking around a bit, it's fun. I'm sure we'll manage to finish it anyways.
We get to choose if we want to do the explaining in plain and simple Power Point or if we want to do it in HTML, which requires a bit more work/research. One group member wasn't there, one wanted Power Point, but me and the other one wanted HTML (come on, that looks way better than Power Point! x.x). Can't be that hard if you just use Dreamweaver, right? Atleast that way it's a bit of a challenge and not just extremely boring ^^
Anyways, I'm going to go do random stuffs and enjoy my headache!

Been a long time since I posted here huh? I've been busy with school and sorting my free time around that I guess.
I haven't been taking any pictures to be honest And no messing around in PS either! I know, I suck.
Well let's see.. school is alright. We got a new student in the group last week, it's a girl! Yeah, I'm not the only girl anymore. She seems nice so far, so it's good
I'm doing very nicely on tests, though that's probably because I know most of the stuff from previous schools so far. I can finish most of my schoolwork at school, so I don't have much homework yet. But I'm sure that'll change soon enough.
I have a week off now, school vacation. So I get to sleep in and do nothing all day long! I'm just watching shows and playing WoW mostly.
Oh, my teacher told me about a movie I'd probably like, it's called Avatar and it should be out later this year. He got me to watch the trailer in class and it actually does seem like a nice movie ^^ So that one now is a part of my loooong 'to watch' list.
I watched The Proposal yesterday (yes, maybe because Ryan Reynolds is in it), it's a pretty good movie!

Hmm what else... oh yeah, the taxes want me to pay them back a nice amount of money for the financial aid I got when I was living together with my ex. And why? Because my ex made more money in the end. As if I ever got to notice any of that, and ofcourse now they have to bother me with it, while I'm not the one having a job! While I still haven't even seen all the money I was supposed to still get from him. You know, I really couldn't care less about that by now, but turns out now, that was about exactly the amount the taxes now want back from me.
Ugh it sucks, I'm getting by on a student loan, I don't have the money to pay for stuff like this. It messes everything up.

Btw, I just love the new Breaking Benjamin album <3 and Epica's new album is pretty nice aswell!

Last week I had my introduction week at school. Wednesday we just got a lot of info and got to know eachother a bit, got a tour around the school, that sort of thing. Thursday was sports day... so I was not there. Friday we got a 'tour' at the hospital IT department. It wasn't much really, she gave us a small story and showed us one server room which we weren't allowed to enter. After that we had a barbeque, though I went home pretty quick.
I'm the only girl in my class (yay ^^), I'm also the oldest.

This week normal classes started. Monday's the longest day and I think it'll take me a while to get used to it. Getting up early, getting home late. Well today was the first day and... kind of a waste of time honestly. We mostly did a lot of sitting around, trying to entertain ourselves. People were playing games, listening to music. And in between that we had about an hour worth of lecturing in stuff I already knew. Oh and we got to draw a pretty picture of a computer and name the components. Most of the time was just sitting around doing nothing though. And we didn't have internet access yet sadly So I ended up listening to music, listening to classmates talking and joking around with them a bit aaaand I improved the Samurize on my laptop. It now has Winamp info, a pretty picture that changes into album art if I play music aaaand some clicky stuff.
My laptop has some issues btw... at random times I can't click the taskbar, then when I open up my documents or something like that, it does work Oo yeah I'm not happy with all the random issues at all. Should have thrown Vista off and installed XP on it.

So tomorrow I'm going to have to have a chat with one of my teachers... they want us to buy a huuuuuge book and learn from that and pass those exams... but as far as I've seen, I can pass those exams without getting the huge book x.x so I'm gonna go see if I can just take the exams right away. Here's a random chapter of the book I just happened to see: "Creating a mail" well I'm pretty sure I know how to make a mail! It's just all the basics for computer users and I'm fairly sure I know most of that. Only thing from the office packet I hardly know is Power Point, so I'll just mess around with that a bit before taking any test.

Right hmmm my class... I dunno them that well yet, still don't know all of their names. But there's a few fun and nice people in it for as far as I've seen so far. Awww and today one of them even dropped me off at the station when I was about to miss my bus ^^

Today did make me tired and well, being bored most of the time isn't really a fun way to spend your day! I do hope it was just the newness of it all and we'll have more to do very soon.

Right, the idea of a new vid card/power supply has been postponed, because I need a new laptop for school. Which I have already bought two days ago. So that was a dent in my savings! But that's what they're there for anyways. It's a toshiba with nice specs for its price. Should be good enough for whatever school wants to throw at it and I can still play WoW on it if I would ever need to (though I got my pc for that). It has Vista on it, which takes some getting used to (I was planning to skip Vista entirely, damnit x.x).. freaking thing blocked everything, asked me if I wanted to allow stuff all the time (thanks Av for telling me how to turn that off! x.x) and then later on it decided to turn the windows firewall back on by itself while I turned it off before! Then there was the whole sharing files thingy which confused me (I won in the end!) and then there was also the fact I couldn't install WoW.. which apparently was because of Peer Guardian (which I btw can't even see running). I wonder what else it has in store for me. Atleast it keeps me from getting bored Oo

WoW is still fun, the guild is still fun, being a complaint soaker (aka officer) is still fun, visiting new raids is still fun. The fact my wrists hurt fast, so I can't level any alt properly isn't fun. Oh and the new cute raptor pets are fun! I've decided to collect them all (there's 8), I got 7 at the moment ^^
